Cookie Policy

Effective date: September 2026

In short

A summary before the detail

Our website is deliberately simple. It uses only the technology needed to deliver the pages to you and keep the site secure.

  1. optional analytics is not currently configured or used, and no analytics service loads;
  2. refusing analytics does not stop the site working, and no part of it is withheld if you say no;
  3. we do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels or anything which profiles you across other websites;
  4. you can change your choice at any time, and withdrawing keeps optional analytics disabled; and
  5. some technical information, such as your IP address, is handled to deliver the site and keep it secure, which happens without optional cookies.

The detail follows. If anything here is unclear, contact us using the details in clause 21.

Part A

What the website uses

1. About this policy

1.1

This policy explains what is stored on your device when you visit the Blue Haven Business Advisory website, what is optional, and how you control it.

1.2

It covers the public website. The Blue Haven App is separate and clause 17 explains the position there.

1.3
The Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data more generally, including the lawful bases we rely on, who we share information with and your rights. Where analytics involves personal data, both policies apply.
1.4

Effective date: September 2026. Clause 19 explains how changes to this policy are handled.

2. Cookies and similar technologies

2.1

A cookie is a small text file which a website asks your browser to store on your device. It can be read back later, for example to remember a choice you made.

2.2

Websites can also use similar technologies which store or read information on a device, including local storage, session storage, and tags or pixels embedded in a page. Those are possibilities rather than a description of our site, and clause 4 sets out what we actually use.

2.3

Where a technology stores or reads information on your device and is not strictly necessary to provide the service you asked for, we ask for your agreement before it is used.

3. The categories

3.1

Strictly necessary technology supports the delivery of the website, its security, and the operation of your privacy choice. Where a technology is strictly necessary to provide the page you asked for, the law allows it without consent, and we keep that category as small as the site allows.

3.2

Analytics is optional but is not currently configured or used on this website. No analytics service is loaded under the current implementation.

3.3

Marketing and advertising technologies are not used. Clause 6 states that position in full.

3.4

If we ever add a technology which does not fall into the first category, we update this policy and the consent interface before it goes live, as clause 18 requires.

4. What is currently used

4.1

The table below sets out the current position.

MarketingNoneNot applicableNot applicableNot applicableNot applicableNot used
4.2

The consent preference is stored in your browser's local storage. The current implementation does not load Google Analytics or set Google Analytics cookies.

4.3

This inventory reflects the current website implementation and is reviewed whenever the site's technology changes.

5. Technical processing which does not use cookies

5.1

Some information is handled simply because a page has to be delivered to you. That includes your IP address, the details of the request your browser makes, information about your browser and device where your browser supplies it, and entries in our access and security logs.

5.2

This supports delivering the site, preventing abuse, keeping the site secure and investigating a problem when something goes wrong.

5.3

This processing does not depend on optional cookies and does not stop if you refuse analytics. The Privacy Policy explains how we treat the personal data involved and how long the logs are kept.

6. No advertising or profiling

6.1

We do not use the website for behavioural advertising, cross-site advertising, retargeting, advertising network profiling, or the sale of browsing information.

6.2

There are no advertising cookies, no social media tracking pixels and no third-party marketing tags on the site.

6.3

If that position ever changes, the consent interface and this policy are reviewed and updated before anything of that kind is deployed.

7. No website forms

7.1

The website currently has no contact form. You reach us using the contact details shown on the site, which means there is no form storage, no form session and no form anti-spam technology to describe.

7.2

If a form is introduced later, we assess what it stores, update this policy, and update the consent interface where the law requires it, before the form goes live.

Part B

Consent and control

8. Analytics

8.1

Google Analytics is not currently configured or used on this website. The optional analytics setting is off by default, and no analytics service loads under the current implementation.

8.2

No analytics request is made and no analytics cookie is set before you make a choice. Accepting the optional analytics setting does not load Google Analytics while it remains unconfigured, and refusing it leaves the site working normally.

8.3

There is no Google Analytics measurement identifier configured in the current website build, so Google is not currently an analytics provider for this site.

8.4

Because Google Analytics is not configured, no Google Analytics account retention setting applies to the current implementation.

8.5

You can withdraw your agreement at any time, and clause 10 explains how.

9. How consent works

9.1

The website offers a clear choice before any optional technology loads. Refusing is as straightforward as accepting, and neither option is hidden or pre-selected.

9.2

We do not treat silence, continued browsing or a pre-ticked box as agreement.

9.3

Your choice is remembered so you are not asked repeatedly, and the record of that choice is described in clause 13.

9.4

Withdrawing your agreement does not make anything unlawful which was done lawfully while your agreement was in place.

10. Withdrawing your agreement

10.1

Use the Cookie settings control on the website to change your preference.

10.2

Google Analytics is not currently configured, so withdrawing your agreement does not need to stop an analytics service or remove analytics cookies. The current implementation makes no analytics request and sets no analytics cookie after withdrawal. Your browser also lets you delete cookies directly, as clause 14 explains, and that remains available whatever choice you make on the site.

10.3

Information already handled for strictly necessary website operation is not erased simply because you have withdrawn, and clause 9.4 explains that position.

11. What is removed when you withdraw

11.1

The current implementation creates no Google Analytics cookies, including _ga, property-specific _ga_* cookies, _gid or _gat cookies.

11.2

Because no Google Analytics integration is active, withdrawing consent removes no analytics cookies from your device.

11.3

Cookies which are not created by this website are left alone. We do not delete unrelated cookies from your device, including any set by another site.

11.4

Your browser controls remain available for anything a third party has set outside this website, and clause 14 explains them.

12. How long cookies last

12.1

A session cookie expires when your browsing session ends. A persistent cookie remains for the period configured for it.

12.2

Google Analytics is not currently configured, so no analytics data retention period or analytics-account setting applies to this website.

12.3

The duration of any cookie or other storage used on the live site is determined by the technology and configuration actually in place.

13. Records of your choice

13.1

We keep a record of your consent, refusal or withdrawal in your browser's local storage, together with the date and time and the version of the preference record which applied.

13.2

That record exists so we can show what you chose and respect it. It remains until you change your preference, clear the relevant browser storage, or the consent record is replaced.

14. Browser controls

14.1

Your browser lets you see the cookies stored on your device, delete them, block them and restrict cookies set by third parties. The controls sit in the privacy or security settings of the browser, and each browser explains its own.

14.2

Blocking strictly necessary technology may affect how the site works. Blocking or deleting optional analytics has no effect on your use of the site.

14.3

Your privacy choice is remembered using local storage on your device. Clearing that storage removes the choice and means the site asks you to choose again.

15. Browser privacy signals

15.1

Some browsers send a signal expressing a general privacy preference, such as Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control.

15.2

We keep technical support for recognised privacy signals under review. Unless the site has been specifically configured to respond to a particular signal, the consent interface on the website remains the way to control optional analytics, and this policy is updated if that changes.

Part C

Other information

16. Third-party services

16.1

The website relies on a hosting provider to deliver the pages. It does not currently use an analytics provider.

16.2

Google Analytics is not currently used, and no Google Analytics measurement identifier is configured in the website build.

16.3

The website framework includes support for loading fonts from a third party. Where that support is used, it is reviewed as part of the website's privacy and security configuration.

16.4

Where a third-party service would place an optional cookie or read information from your device, your agreement is obtained before it loads, where the law requires it.

16.5

The Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data shared with a provider, including the position on transfers outside the United Kingdom.

17. The Blue Haven App

17.1

The Blue Haven App is separate from this website. It may use session, authentication and storage technologies which a public website does not need.

17.2

Those technologies are governed by the App privacy and data terms where they apply, and by the Engagement Document under which App access is provided.

17.3

This Cookie Policy applies to the main Blue Haven website unless it expressly says otherwise.

18. Before we change what the website uses

18.1

Before any new technology which is not strictly necessary is added to the website, we:

  1. identify the technology and the provider;
  2. identify its purpose and what it stores or reads;
  3. decide whether consent is required;
  4. review the supplier position, including any transfer outside the United Kingdom;
  5. update this policy and, where needed, the Privacy Policy;
  6. update the consent interface; and
  7. test that nothing optional loads before consent is given.
18.2

This follows the privacy-by-design process in clause 27 of the Blue Haven Internal Data Protection Policy.

18.3

The same steps apply if a website form, a booking tool, an embedded video or a chat feature is added later.

19. Changes to this policy

19.1

We update this policy when the technology on the website changes or when the law changes.

19.2

The current version is always the one published on the website. Where a change is material, we highlight it on the page for a reasonable period.

19.3

Effective date: September 2026.

20. How this policy works with the Privacy Policy

20.1

This Cookie Policy explains what is stored on or read from your device, and how you control optional analytics.

20.2

The Privacy Policy explains the wider picture: the personal data we handle, the lawful bases we rely on, who we share it with, transfers outside the United Kingdom, how long we keep it and the rights you have.

20.3

Where analytics processes personal data, both policies apply, and the Privacy Policy governs the personal data position.
